I received knitted slippers with knitting needles with a description and a knitting pattern from a good friend who lives in a northern Scandinavian country, in the city of Kalix.

Probably, such a name as “slippers” for what is shown in the picture may seem inappropriate to someone, however, in Sweden such knitwear is called even more strangely - “tv-tofflor”. The name can be translated literally as "slippers for the TV." It is understood that such socks (call it what you want!) are very convenient to wear while at home.

It should be said that in the houses of the northern rural province of Sweden - Norrbotten - it is customary to walk around the house in knitted socks, and not in our usual slippers. Based on my own experience, I can confirm that watching TV or relaxing on the sofa, wearing such socks - slippers on your feet, is very pleasant. They knit quite quickly - in just a couple of evenings you can knit.

Here I have four more options for real slippers with knitting patterns, here you will find both crochet and knitting, as well as their combinations, for example, with crochet trim. Models from an old supplement to the magazine, photos leave much to be desired, but I am sure that the material has not lost its relevance so far.

To knit slippers you will need:

• woolen yarn of two colors, main - 60-80 grams (in this case, lilac), additional (pink) - 40-60 grams. To knit my slippers with knitting needles, I took the Semenov yarn "Natasha". The main shade is purple, the secondary shade is pink.

• knitting needles size 2.5 mm

• a large needle (my grandmother called such a “gypsy” needle) for stitching the finished product.

Now you can get to work. The main knitting is garter, that is, odd and even rows are knitted facial.

We use the so-called "lazy" patterns. That is, simple in execution, but at the same time beautiful.

Beginning of knitting - for slippers of size 35-36, you need to dial 67 loops and 2 edge loops, that is, a total of 69 loops.

In odd rows: 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 - you need to add four loops crossed with a crochet according to the scheme: after the hem, before the middle loop (in my case it was the 34th), after the middle loop and before the second edging.

Knit all even rows with knit only.

Now on the knitting needles we have increased the number of loops to 93 = 2 kr. p + 67 p. + (4 p. * 6 p.)

Knit 15 and 16 p. with one front thread of the main color, and 17 and 18 rows - with the front yarn of the additional one.

Thus we have finished the sole of the slipper. By the way, to increase the “wear resistance” of the product, when knitting the sole, you can add a simple cotton thread to a woolen one.

19 p. - knit with a thread of an additional color, reshooting every third loop with the main yarn 14 times, placing the working thread behind knitting, while 2 loops of a different color will be next to the hem and 7 loops in the center of knitting.

Subsequent even rows will be front, and the re-shot loops of the main color will be re-shot again, the thread should be located before knitting.

21 p. - front (lilac), 7 sts in the middle in the center are knitted with one front, it turns out a very nice “rosette” along the midline in front.

Scheme for r. 19 - 21 must be repeated an additional 6 times, that is, knit only 7 identical elements of the pattern.

When 51 sts remain on the needles, the most difficult thing is behind. top slipper knit as you like. I usually use a combination of 1x1 garter stitch and ribbing, finishing with garter stitch.

It remains to sew the finished product with a thick needle, put it on and sit comfortably with a book by the fireplace or in an armchair in front of the TV.

And one more note. Since the floors in the rooms are most often slippery, you can apply drops of liquid rubber to the sole, which hardens slightly when dried and in such slippers - socks it will no longer be slippery to walk on the varnished floor. Very practical.

How to make warm winter slippers for the house? Except for knitting. There is a very unhackneyed, for my taste, original method. I like that the result is not always predictable. You will get a dense product, like felt boots. First, slippers must be knitted with knitting needles from wool specially designed for this, and then they should be felted in an ordinary washing machine.

I received exactly the same slippers as you see in the photo below as a gift from Natasha, the author of the description above. Only in a slightly different color scheme - gray with pink. The shape is perfect for the leg.
