The beautiful tradition quickly spread all over the world, and before each New Year, more and more doors, windows show off to each other with variously executed Christmas symbols. How to make pompons: cut out two identical rings from cardboard, wrap them not very tightly with multi-colored fluffy yarn, cut its layer along the outer edge and, passing the wire between the layers of cardboard, pull off the middle of the pompom (see photo). The long ends of the wire will serve as a fastener between the pompoms. The number of them depends on the possibility and desire of the author, as well as the final decor.

New Year is a holiday highly revered in our country. This is a new stage in life, many believe that with the advent of the next year, changes must necessarily occur. And they depend on how you spend this holiday. There is even a proverb among the people: “as you meet the New Year, so you will spend it.” On this holiday, it is customary to cook many different dishes, clean the house and decorate it in every possible way. Even without following the traditions, people still decorate their homes before this holiday, since decorations are the harbingers of the holiday. They create a special atmosphere, create a New Year's mood and allow you to surprise guests with the mastery of the owner. Today we will dedicate a day to create a New Year's wreath with your own hands.

Decorations are the harbingers of the holiday

For New Year's Eve, a wreath will be a great decor element.

Wreaths are made from anything

In our country, it is customary to make a wreath as a New Year's decoration. However, it has a certain history and symbolism. This decoration came to us from Western countries, where it is a symbol of Christmas. And its true name is "Christmas wreath." It is believed that his invention dates back to 1839 and is attributed to the hands of Johann Hinrich Wiehern. The Hamburg theologian, Lutheran raised children from a poor family. With the onset of winter, they often asked their mentor if Christmas was coming soon (and according to Catholic traditions, this is December 25th). So that the pupils could count the days until Christmas, he made a wreath from an old wheel, branches from the garden and satin ribbons, and placed 24 small red candles and 4 large white ones in it. Every day the children lit one candle at a time, and on Sunday, along with a small one, they also lit a large white candle. So on December 24, on Christmas Eve, the last candle was burned, which spoke of the onset of Christmas.

This version is the most famous. However, there is information about the ancient German settlements, where such wreaths were made before Christmas. The ancient Slavs made similar wreaths from ears of corn and hung them on the door at the entrance. They considered him a talisman and revered him very much. But there is no exact data on how these wreaths looked and what symbols they carried. In the old days, the Ukrainian Slavs, for example, used didukh as a symbol of Christmas. This is a sheaf of straw, which was installed in the corner of the house under the icon. It was considered a talisman, a symbol of wealth, prosperity and the preservation of the ancestral family.

In modern traditions, the Christmas wreath has lost its symbolism and is used as a decoration. Often, spruce branches, holly, mistletoe and poinsettia are used for its manufacture. These plants are famous for their ability to stay green all winter. In addition, there is a belief that if two lovers kiss under a wreath of mistletoe on Christmas night, they living together will be full of happiness. So, this decoration is hung over the front door or placed on the festive table. In the second case, candles are often used to light them on New Year's or Christmas night.

In general, this tradition is typical for Western countries. However, as a decoration we meet it in our country. Only here it does not carry any special symbolism, and wreaths are made not for Christmas, but as a New Year's decoration. They look very attractive. Let's create this miracle.

New Year's wreath has its own history and symbolism

There are several stories of the appearance of the wreath.

General principles

Although the Christmas wreath is recognizable in any form, it has its own modification in different countries. So in Scotland we will see pieces of checkered fabric on the product along with spruce branches. American decorations use red ribbons to support the country's traditional Christmas combination of red and green. In France, we will meet wreaths with interweaving of dried flowers. We use all available means. So you can see wreaths of socks, ties, tinsel, and of course traditional spruce branches.

For each country, the wreath has its own modification.

The purpose of all wreaths is the same, only modifications differ

Red ribbons are used in American jewelry

But regardless of their modifications, Christmas wreaths have general principle creation. Only the tools and materials used differ, in some cases the number of stages and principles of creation may differ. Let's divide the work into several stages.

materials

tools

Preparatory

Prepare everything you need

Depends on the type

Pliers, thread, glue, scissors

Building the Foundation

Make a base circle for the wreath

Wire, cardboard

Pliers, scissors

Preparation of decorative elements

Cut off the required amount of tinsel or spruce branches, string sweets on a thread, etc.

Candy, tinsel, Christmas decorations, fir branches, ribbons, cones, etc.

Scissors, glue, thread, varnish, paint

Preliminary layout

Compose a composition without fixing it

The finished circle, the material selected as the basis

Final stage

Pin all elements to the base

All finished parts of the composition

Glue, thread, tape, wire

We see the main stages of creating a composition. In the process of work, we will follow them. Let's start manufacturing holiday decoration considering different types New Year's wreaths.

Making your own wreath is easy if you follow the instructions.

All improvised means can be used for a wreath

Various options

We offer you a variety of options for making New Year's wreaths. You will be surprised what materials are used and how many wreath modifications exist. We have already said that the principle of their creation is similar, but only the external design differs. And the ring for the New Year's wreath on the table is about the same for various options. There are two most used types: a wire base and a cardboard base. Of course, you can make a circle out of paper, wood, Styrofoam, no warps at all. However, the use of cardboard or wire will help make the product more durable. So, let's start with the base.

A wreath can be made from cardboard

The wreath ring can be made from metal or cardboard.

The use of wire can make the wreath more durable

wreath ring

First, decide on the size of the future wreath. It depends on its location. If you plan to decorate the table, remember that it should be neat and not interfere with food, but at the same time noticeable at the holiday.

So, first draw a circle on a piece of paper that matches the size of your future wreath. Now cut off the amount of wire along the circumference. We calculate its size according to the presented formula:

Where C corresponds to the circumference, n is a mathematical constant equal to 3.14, r is the radius of the circle. You can measure the radius with a ruler and calculate the required wire length using the suggested formula. You can also use another method, and by applying the wire to the sketch of the circle, determine the required length. It is even easier to form a circle "on the go" without precise calculations.

In any case, we have decided on the length. Now twist its ends with the help of pliers, forming a circle. Depending on what the next layers consist of, wind one or two more layers of wire, fastening them all together. Ready.

A cardboard ring is made without a blank. A circle of the required diameter is drawn on a sheet of cardboard. Further, a certain distance is laid off from the outer line at four points of the circle (so that the inner one turns out to be even). An inner circle is drawn on the marked point. Now we delete it without breaking the external one. So we're left with just the rim. These are the rings for the New Year's wreath, on which decorative elements are attached.

Now the base is ready, and with its use we can start making a Christmas decoration using various materials.

First of all, you need to decide on the size of the wreath

It is much easier to make a wreath on the go, and not calculate every centimeter

Christmas tree branches

It is worth paying tribute to tradition. The symbol of the New Year, and in Western countries, where this tradition came from, and of Christmas, is a spruce (New year tree). A wreath of spruce branches is perfect as a decoration on the door, on the window, and also on the table.

To create it, use both wire and cardboard base. It is better to wrap the latter with a thick layer of paper to add volume. Now we prepare the decorative part. Take spruce or pine branches (with short needles), cut them into small pieces, prepare glue, yarn. Additionally, you can use cones, satin bows, artificial berries, bells, etc. But do not overdo it. It is advisable to mix no more than three colors (in our case it is green, red and gold).

Now let's start composing. It is carried out in two ways.

As for fasteners, you can:

  1. wind the branches to the base with threads;
  2. glue them using polymer glue.

The most popular is a wreath of spruce branches.

Toys, cones, ribbons are suitable for decorating a wreath.

To create such a wreath, you can use cardboard and wire.

As for the appearance, we make a wreath in the following variations.

  1. "Tousled", arranging the branches in a chaotic manner. To do this, they must be short. Put them on the glue so that they stick up. Fill in the gaps and add braid, bumps, etc.
  2. "Smooth" compared to the first option. To do this, we tie the ring in such a way that the branches are on both sides, and they are fastened in the inside of the ring. So they will be directed in one direction (from the inside to the outside), and we will get a relatively smooth and voluminous wreath. For this option, you will need flexible and long branches.

In the same way, a wreath is made from holly, fir or mistletoe. You can find it in flower shops, or grow it in the garden. This amazing plant also stays green throughout the year.

A wreath can be made smooth by arranging the branches in one direction.

By spreading the branches in a chaotic manner, you can get a voluminous wreath

natural materials

Other natural materials that are quite suitable for making a New Year's wreath on the table with your own hands include cones, acorns, nuts, tangerines (dried), berries.

For these materials, it is better to use a cardboard base, tying it with a large layer of paper or fabric (for volume). Fasten securely with glue.

You can make a wreath made entirely of cones. So, paint them the same color, different ones, or leave them natural brown. Also, the cones will make an excellent company for tangerines and cinnamon sticks. Gifts from squirrels look good together - nuts and acorns.

It is better to dilute such compositions in green using natural green leaves or some sprigs of pine needles. It will also work well to withstand the entire composition in brown, adding twine or burlap to it.

Can be used for decoration natural materials

Cones are perfect for decorating a wreath

For natural materials, it is better to use a cardboard base.

Fabric and thread

By the way, about burlap. Use it on your own too. This is a great material for creating a warm, rustic atmosphere.

Create a wreath using burlap squares. Cut out the same squares, modify them as you wish. We suggest folding them, wrapping the edges, and overlapping them on top of each other. Thus, complete the entire circle. Add some greenery and a bright bow to the composition.

Another option. Cut off a long piece of not very stiff burlap, fold it in half and sew. Then, using a needle and thread, sew in the center with a stitch, gathering the fabric a little (to make an “accordion”). Here is an airy and light wreath. Use it without a base, or fix the resulting element on a cardboard ring, diluting it with decorative elements (bells, stars, berries, etc.).

Introducing original idea using threads. A wreath of multi-colored balls. This option looks great both on the door and on the table, symbolizing home comfort and warmth. It is made in the following way.

Roll up balls of wool of various sizes. The threads should be woven as freely as possible so that the balls are light. Then sew or glue the resulting balls to the cardboard base in a chaotic manner tightly enough. Knit a small fabric from the same threads. Sew it to a few balls and stick the knitting needles. This idea looks creative and adds a special comfort.

You can use fabric and thread to decorate the wreath.

This wreath looks very beautiful and gives the room a special atmosphere.

Tinsel and Christmas decorations

New Year's tinsel is a material that is in every home, and is a symbol of the New Year. It will also make a lovely Christmas wreath.

Here we will use a wire base. Enough to wrap it in in large numbers rain to get a voluminous silhouette, and the wreath is ready. We dilute it with cones, acorns, sweets, Christmas balls. Combining several colors of New Year's tinsel, you will get a wreath with a pattern that does not require additional elements.

Mentioned christmas balls, like other Christmas decorations can be used independently. The principle is the same. Secure them with a thread on a wire frame, and the wreath is ready.

There are many more ideas: use pasta, socks, ties, legumes, clothespins, sweets... In general, whatever comes to your mind. The main thing is that in the process of work there is a festive mood.

Video: DIY New Year's Christmas wreath

50 photo ideas for creating a New Year's wreath with your own hands:

Last weekend for round table people who are not indifferent to the New Year and floristry gathered in a cozy cafe. Flower workshop creator Aquamarine Flowers Alina Martynova told and showed how to make a beautiful christmas decor: a wreath of natural fluffy spruce, the aroma of which filled the whole room. In this article, we will not hide any important details, so it will not be difficult for you to create your own wreath at home.

DIY Christmas wreath: h what you need and where to get it

Main ingredient - Canadian spruce. It does not crumble, but dries up: the wreath will hang quietly during the holidays, and next year it would be better to replace the branches. Canadian spruce has large and non-spiky needles, so it is a pleasure to work with it. In Moscow, branches can be purchased at the Riga market, where there is also a variety of decor with which we decorated the wreath.

Next you will need wreath base. If you like a fluffy wreath, then appearance the base is not important - branches will cover it. In this case, you can buy a foam circle in a craft store or at the Crafts Fair. You can also make the base yourself: cut a ring out of cardboard, and then tape crumpled newspaper or wrapping paper to it on one side to create volume.

There is another type of base - from twigs. They are sold at the same Masters Fair (there may be in florist shops, but not for sure). This base does not have to be completely covered with branches, it is beautiful in itself.

You will need the following tools:

  • thin wire in black or green (less convenient options are fishing line or strong thread),
  • scissors and secateurs,
  • glue gun.

And, of course, decor. Here you are limited only by fantasy, but we used:

  • cones,
  • cinnamon sticks,
  • coconut shell stars
  • christmas balls,
  • cotton,
  • dried oranges,
  • ribbons.

Buy decor in several colors or hand-paint it to make your wreath look brighter and more festive. Oranges, by the way, are not as easy to dry as they seem, so you can buy them (like cones if you live far from the forest) in specialized stores.

Basic stage

Cut large branches of spruce with secateurs into smaller "legs" - the desired size is easy to determine by attaching the branch to the base. These branches will need to wrap the base with wire. Wire works best because it holds the structure together well, even if you release a loose branch. Due to the properties of the wire, the wreaths after winding can be additionally formed by hand if the shape is not perfect.

Tie the wire to the base, then attach one or more branches (usually three is optimal to cover the front, outer and inside rings) and fasten. Try to lead the wire between the branches, and not on top, so that it is less noticeable.

Add new branches, tucking their tips under the previous ones, continuing to wrap. If there are gaps, do not worry - you can then add branches where they were not enough. If you wrap the entire wreath in a circle, move clockwise - this arrangement of branches is read as the most harmonious and positive. When finished wrapping, tie the wire into a knot with wrong side wreath and cut (if wound with a reel in hand).

Take a critical look at what you've done. With the help of new portions of wire, add twigs where they were not enough, or wrap protruding branches more tightly if they are out of order. The branches can be safely moved by hand, the design will not suffer: our wreath turned out to be slightly oval after winding, but a simple compression from the sides and displacement of a pair of branches was enough to correct the situation.

The wreath is ready, it remains to decorate it!

wreath decoration

The main decoration tool is a glue gun. Plug it in and let it warm up. During this time, select the decor elements and harmoniously arrange them on the wreath. Here Alina gave some universal advice:

  • There are two approaches: form groups of elements and then fill in the gaps between them, or evenly distribute the elements one at a time throughout the wreath.
  • You can create groups from objects of the same type, the same shape or the same color - one thing must match, maximum two parameters.
  • Groups with three objects look best.
  • In groups, it is better to have connecting elements so that they come together in a composition: for example, all groups will have the same object or color.

  • Arranging groups in an equilateral triangle should be avoided.
  • The main thing is to try to do without the effect of "eyes" - two identical or very similar objects symmetrically opposite each other. It will seem that the wreath is looking at you - we are serious. In this case, it is enough to place these elements diagonally - the effect is lost.
  • Don't be afraid to place the same objects in pairs if it seems harmonious to you.
  • Rely on your sense of beauty.

Gluing elements on the wreath is very simple: squeeze a little glue onto the back of the decor, press it to the right place on the wreath and hold it a little. The main thing is not to try to stick to the air between the branches - we checked, this does not work. Try to slightly sink the decor into the branches: this way it looks like part of the wreath, and not lying on top, and sticks better.

As a final step, decorate the wreath with a ribbon if desired. You can tie a bow directly on the wreath, or you can make it separately and stick it on top, like the rest of the decor. The ribbon can be a fastener for hanging a wreath on the wall, or it can be a purely decorative detail. Then you need to make a loop of wire on the back of the wreath.

The last thing left is a strength test. Raise the wreath and shake it - if nothing fell off, then you did a great job with the glue gun, and the product will not suffer even if you slam the door on which the wreath hangs. If it falls off, repeat gluing.

By the way! A wreath can not only be hung on a wall or door, but also placed on a table or chest of drawers, placing a composition of candles or a vase of tangerines in the middle.

Happy New Year to you!

Hello everyone! We continue the theme of decorating your home on the eve of the New Year holiday. And today I want to invite you to try to make a homemade accessory - a wreath. This is a very bright product that will attract the attention of every guest and create a truly festive atmosphere.

And this is done easily and simply, it does not take much time, and at the same time, any improvised materials and decorative means are used. The most important thing here is to learn how to make a frame, that is, the basis for a New Year's wreath.

You can also buy a frame, for example, use a foam mold or hoop, or make it yourself from paper, cardboard, wire or fabric. The following accessories are well suited for decoration: tinsel, rain, fabric, cones, spruce branches, newspaper and postcard clippings, ribbons, etc.

Also remember that this element is most often used to decorate doors, so do not forget about the method of fastening products.

It is now fashionable to replace the usual round wreaths with unusual shapes, such as stars and hearts. Therefore, think over the shape for your product in advance. Be sure to keep an eye on what accessories to choose to decorate such crafts. After all, the decoration should complement your entire interior.

Rather, start reading today's issue and then you will learn in detail about how and from what you can make wreaths on New Year and Christmas.

In addition to doors, wreaths can be hung on walls and shelves.

Now I will tell you how you can make such an accessory using thick cardboard and tinsel, as well as Christmas balls.

I also want to say that in such products, decor elements must be combined by color so that they do not contradict each other, but, on the contrary, complement.

You will need:

  • tinsel of three shades;
  • thick cardboard;
  • Christmas decorations and other decorations;
  • scotch;
  • scissors;
  • cord.

Manufacturing process:

1. Cut out a bagel from thick cardboard right size. Next, arrange Christmas toys and other decorations on it in the sequence that you like.

2. Now secure them with tape.

4. With fixed tinsel, wrap the entire product in a circle.

5. Then wrap the craft in the same way with a different color of tinsel.

6. And for the third time, wrap the wreath with tinsel of a different color. You can use thinner tinsel as a last resort. And do not forget to fasten the ends of the tinsel.

After you learn how to make a frame out of cardboard, I suggest complicating the work a little and trying to make a base from a newspaper and fabric.

You will need:

  • newspapers;
  • kitchen napkins;
  • green organza (if necessary);
  • PVA glue or hot glue;
  • tinsel;
  • decorations.

Manufacturing process:

1. Roll a tube out of newspaper sheets and make a ring. Wrap it with a few more sheets to make it strong. The ends of the newspaper can be glued together.

2. Now wrap the resulting ring with white paper napkins.

4. After fixing the tip of the tinsel on the base and wrap the entire ring in a circle with it. Reattach the end.

And now the options for finished work using tinsel.

Christmas wreath of fir branches and cones on the door

I really love when natural materials are used in crafts, especially cones and spruce branches. Firstly, such works always look natural and chic, and secondly, the coniferous smell from such products is throughout the house.

So let's now try to make a wreath using cones and twigs. And we will learn how to make the base from a foam base and fabric.

You will need:

  • base form made of papier-mâché or polystyrene foam (or a cardboard bagel);
  • decorative wide ribbon;
  • decorative twigs with beads;
  • sprigs of spruce with cones;
  • big artificial flower(Poinsettia - "Christmas Star");
  • pins, scissors;
  • hot glue gun.

Manufacturing process:

1. Take the base and fasten the decorative tape on it with back side with a pin. Wrap the base tightly.

2. As soon as you completely hide the base, secure the tape with a pin from the inside.

3. Now prepare the elements for decoration.

4. First, fasten the twigs with beads.

5. And then spruce branches with cones.

6. Glue a flower over the branches.

Or another way to make a wire base.

You will need:

  • wire;
  • fir branches;
  • strong black rope;
  • New Year's toys.

Manufacturing process:

First, make a round frame of the required size from wire. Then form lush bunches of spruce branches, and tie them at the base with black thread. Then fasten the prepared bundles to the frame. Next, decorate your creation using toys, bows, ribbons. Tie a loop.

And here detailed master class for the manufacture of a New Year's wreath from a purchased frame.

You will need:

  • ready-made or home-made frame (you can use a wooden hoop);
  • twine or twine;
  • cones;
  • all kinds of decorations;
  • glue gun, scissors.

Manufacturing process:

1. Take spruce branches and begin to fix them on the frame away from you with right side. Fasten the branches with a rope, tying into three knots. At the same time, do not cut the thread, but wrap it through the frame and fasten all other branches in the same way.

2. And at the very end, tie the rope into a knot and fix it with hot glue. Make a loop.

3. Now lay out the decorations and determine their place on the product. Glue the decor. All is ready!

And I suggest taking a look at the photo samples.

Master class on making a wreath of balloons

And now interesting way creating accessories from Christmas balls. As a basis, we take a circle of foam. You can also make a frame from the options already considered.

You will need:

  • foam base;
  • Christmas balls;
  • beads;
  • ribbon;
  • paints in a spray can;
  • glue gun.

Manufacturing process:

1. Take the styrofoam base and cover it with gray paint. Dry the item.

2. Now glue small balls to size inside.

3. And outside, on the contrary, larger.

Balls can be used different not only in size and color, but also in different textures (matte, glossy, shiny).

Another creative idea. You might as well use her.

You will need:

  • wire;
  • wide tape;
  • factory Christmas balls;
  • glue gun.

Manufacturing process:

Make a round frame out of metal wire. Then string Christmas balls on the wire, while initially gluing them to the metal loops. Decorate the finished craft with a ribbon.

This time I don’t throw off samples of ready-made scenery, since they are all identical.

We make a wreath for the New Year from paper

And ahead of us is another way to create products from plain paper. Such creativity will be interesting for the kids, so be sure to involve them in the process.

By the way, we will make a bagel from newspaper tubes.

You will need:

  • newspapers;
  • PVA glue;
  • scissors;
  • brushes;
  • acrylic paint (white);
  • scrapbooking paper, colored or wrapping paper;
  • pictures on thick sheets (from old postcards, packages, boxes);
  • various other decorations.

Manufacturing process:

1. Roll newspaper sheets into thin tubes. Glue the ends of the newspaper with PVA glue. The number of newspaper tubes will depend on the thickness of your product.

2. Now take any round object and wrap it with tubes in several layers. Lubricate all tubes with glue. When you lay out all the tubes, then grease the entire structure with PVA glue and let it dry well.

3. After drying, remove the blank from the round object and paint the base with white paint.

5. Place them on the product, and then stick.

6. Additionally, the craft can be decorated with sparkles or beads.

Now I’ll tell you and show you how to make such beauty out of cardboard.

You will need:

  • colored paper, colored cardboard or paper with a pattern;
  • cardboard (for the base);
  • stapler;
  • scissors.

Manufacturing process:

1. Take white cardboard. Circle a round object on it. Cut out the circle.

2. Then inside circle a round object, but of a smaller diameter.

3. Cut out the middle.

4. From colored cardboard, cut out the details in the shape of petals.

5. Twist each petal at the base.

6. Start gluing the petals to the cardboard base.

7. Glue the parts close to each other, forming a twig.

8. Thus seal the entire base.

9. And at the end, glue the ribbon-loop.

As you can see, everything is very easy and simple. Submit more ideas? Then catch!

As a basis for crafts, you can take an ordinary paper plate. Cut out the inner circle and decorate.

How to sew a New Year's wreath from felt + patterns

In addition to the usual and familiar options, you can and should also use felt and fabric. At the same time, you can also sew the bagel base from fabric and fill it with padding polyester. Or use frames made of twigs, paper and other materials, but sew the decorations themselves.

I liked the next option. I share with you.

You will need:

  • foam base;
  • fluffy green threads;
  • ordinary sewing threads;
  • glue gun;
  • felt of different colors;
  • scissors;
  • patterned fabric in different colors;
  • chalk for fabric;
  • cardboard stencils of figurines: heart, snowman, Christmas tree, bell, etc.;
  • synthetic winterizer;
  • elements for decor: ribbons, buttons.

Manufacturing process:

1. Take the base, fix the fluffy thread and gently, without flashes, wrap the workpiece with it around the entire circle.

2. Secure the end of the thread with glue, and bulge the villi up.

3. Circle the stencil on the felt heart bigger size, cut it out (2 pieces).

Decorating your home for the New Year and Christmas is a pleasant and joyful tradition. And one of the signs of the upcoming holidays is a Christmas wreath.

Decorating your home for the New Year and Christmas is a pleasant and joyful tradition. And one of the signs of the upcoming holidays is the Christmas wreath. Its history is quite long - I think we are to this interesting topic we'll be back. And today, since there is not much time left before the New Year celebrations, I propose to talk about the practical side of the issue: how to make a Christmas wreath with your own hands

Moreover, it is not at all difficult, and what is at hand can serve as the material. And if it's hard to stop at one idea, let's make several different decorations - for the home, for giving, as a gift to friends...

One of the most simple options: needles and balls, silver and gold - nothing more, but it looks great. So that the composition does not look monotonous, it is better to take different balls - matte and shiny, small and larger. They can be purchased immediately as a set, or you can rummage through home supplies and assemble a stylish decoration from scattered Christmas tree decorations.

Here, perhaps, it is worth making a small digression. Because ideas are ideas, but as soon as we make an attempt to implement any of them, the question immediately arises: how to fasten all this together? You will need a base, on which then, in accordance with the creative plan, we will assemble a wreath. Therefore, I propose to watch the master class, which describes and shows in detail, what and how to make a blank for future decoration. As many as 3 ways - there are plenty to choose from

There are other options for the bases - from cardboard, polystyrene, straw. About them - a little further, but for now let's get back to the ideas ...

Color creates a mood. Silver, blue - "cold" colors perfectly match the winter mood. So why not use them in your Christmas decor? For such a wreath, sprigs of blue spruce are suitable, or better - artificial needles of suitable shades. You can complement the design by powdering the needles with “snow” from a spray can

If there are no suitable coniferous branches, you can replace them with silver tinsel. Or use natural materials, covering them with suitable paint and sparkles and adding Christmas decorations - as in the next video

Looking for something warmer and more sunny? Let's mix colors! Elegant mix of green and silver twigs decorated with cones and "gold" toys looks noble and elegant. True, it will be somewhat more difficult to implement this idea - for all its external simplicity. It is important here that the golden decor does not compete with the original texture of the two-color coniferous base, and the composition as a whole does not turn out to be too colorful and chaotic. The search for harmonious combinations is a task for a real artist

All in all, a very good idea. combination of different textures and shades of green. Take a look at how fresh and interesting leaves look against the background of pine needles, and golden thuja branches among silver-green spruce needles enliven the composition. But of course, it would be incomplete without a bright red berry accent.

Often found in festive compositions and poinsettia- one of the traditional Christmas plants.

Christmas the wreath does not have to be coniferous at all. Using flexible branches of trees and shrubs (most often willows), straw, shoots of evergreens and similar materials, it is easy to create original decoration for home or garden. And the “gold” or “silver” paint applied to the woven base and individual decorative elements completely transforms the original material.

To understand how to implement such an idea, watch the following short video. Even a completely inexperienced craftswoman can make a beautiful Christmas wreath from natural materials, which you can easily find in the country. And it will take a little time (which is also important in the pre-holiday hustle and bustle, agree)

Looks unusual wreath of fir cones . If you wish, you can add berries, an elegant bow or other decorative elements to the composition. Some of the cones can be painted using paints in aerosol cans, or artificial “snow” can be added, but in a natural, natural version, the wreath turns out to be quite interesting. True, it will take a lot of cones, but if there is a forest near your dacha, there will be no problems with the material for crafts

Inclusions bright scarlet berries(for example, in our conditions - mountain ash or viburnum, wild rose or hawthorn) enliven the restrained composition of "natural" shades. But keep in mind: if you plan to hang such a wreath on the front door of your house or decorate the gate with it, make it an element of garden decor, feathered guests can significantly change your original idea))

But in this bright wreath berries - the main element. Traditionally, holly (aka holly) is used for Christmas decor, but we have a bit of a problem with this. Juicy viburnum at home will quickly lose its attractiveness, and birds have already pecked mountain ash in many gardens, so to implement such an idea, you will have to do with imitation of berry clusters, which you can make from red beads in different sizes.

In the end, you can remove all the "superfluous" and leave only branches with berries (or their imitation). See how original this wreath looks - a little "disheveled", asymmetrical, but surprisingly attractive.

Christmas balls are usually seen as an addition to the decor - but you can look at them differently! How do you like the idea a Christmas wreath made from nothing but balls? Matte and shiny, different sizes, different shades of red (and if you want - then blue or green, golden or silver) - together they make up an unusual, but very elegant decoration.

If a plain wreath seems boring to you, make it colorful. This idea is perfect for decorating a child's room. Only in this case, choose unbreakable balls so that the baby does not get hurt, even if the festive wreath accidentally falls (parents know: such “accidents” are a common phenomenon when there is a nimble little one in the house))

How to make a practical and safe option - wreath with sisal balls, shown and described in detail in the next master class

As a matter of fact, A Christmas wreath can be made from just about anything.. Any natural materials, dried flowers, scattered beads and all kinds of jewelry, tinsel and Christmas decorations - all this and much more can be easily turned into an unusual decoration, you just have to show your imagination.

fans minimalism they will surely appreciate such an idea - this wreath is simple, concise, but at the same time it looks elegant and touching. All the "salt" - in a bizarre interweaving of rods, which is spectacular in itself, without any additions. But again, if you wish, you can develop an idea: for example, “ennoble” the material with the help of paint ...

An excellent festive option is a wreath in which electric garland. It will be especially spectacular if you use it in outdoor decor: hang it on the front door, the wall of the house, the gate, decorate the winter gazebo in the garden, and so on.

Reflected in shiny balls and tinsel, the lights of the garland create an unusual, fabulous mood. Just do not forget: you need to place this decoration there, where it is possible to safely connect the garland to the electrical network. And it’s better to think in advance about how to hide the cord going to the outlet so as not to destroy the New Year’s magic with such “everyday little things” :))

And it's worth considering: not every electric garland is suitable for outdoor use. This is a security issue, so do not neglect such "little things".

Finally, you can weave cinnamon sticks, anise stars, small tangerines and others into the needles. fragrant fruits, spices or even flowers- it will turn out not only beautiful, but also fragrant New Year's decoration. Smells are easy to enhance if you use the right essential oils. Just do not overdo it so that one of the guests does not get a headache from the fragrance

You have probably already seen: the number of ideas is infinite, and you can make a beautiful New Year's wreath with your own hands from any material at hand. If the creative process has already captivated you, and you want to make as many different decorations as possible - for your home and as gifts for friends - watch the following video and be inspired by vivid examples

Well, now that the Christmas wreath is ready (and maybe not even one!), You need to find a suitable place for it. Traditional option - hang decoration on the front door or above it. You can complement it with small Christmas trees on both sides of the porch, garlands of coniferous branches or compositions similar in style and design to a wreath

If this is too simple and ordinary for you, place a wreath decorated with colorful lights, on the pediment under the roof. By this "identification mark" guests will easily find your hospitable home on New Year's Eve

It is possible and on a fence or barn wall hang plain bright decoration- here's a simple and affordable way to create a festive mood for yourself and your neighbors. And feathered guests can be pleased if you use the right treat when creating a wreath: cones with seeds, berries, rose hips, and so on.

In the house, the wreath will be successful addition to others Christmas decorations - snowflakes, garlands or Christmas stockings hanging in anticipation of gifts from Santa Claus))

By the way, pay attention to how in this case they fit into the interior, made part of the decor regular skis. Someone modestly hides them in the attic or in the pantry - but it turns out that you can make them part of the holiday decoration of the dacha! You look, and you’ll soon get ready for a ski trip during the New Year holidays :))

The wreath can serve beautiful candlestick. Just do not forget about fire safety: candles must be securely fastened so that they do not fall in any case, and decor elements must be placed away from the fire. And of course, you should not wait for the candles to burn out completely - the risk is too great that the resinous twigs will flare up from the approaching flame

By the way, it is with this, they say, that once began history of the christmas wreath, invented by the Lutheran Johann Hinrich Wiehern. His wreath was decorated with candles (24 small red and 4 large white) and helped the pupils of Wichern count the days until Christmas: one red candle was lit on each day of Advent (pre-Christmas period), adding one white on Sunday. Over time, only 4 large candles remained from the original version (in the Catholic tradition they are not white, but colored: 1 pink and 3 purple), one for each Sunday of Advent. Well, this beautiful tradition came to us and remained just an element of the festive decoration of the house.

And the wreath can become an unusual gift and even declaration of love. Why not? New Year and Christmas are great times for romance and happiness. And if there are not enough words to tell about your feelings, try to express them in a festive decor.
