With this famous stylist international class, many Russian celebrities work, he gives hugely successful master classes, releases educational videos on creating elegant hairstyles, participates in various beauty championships and teaches how to create images in his own school.

He is called a real wizard, radically changing the image of a person. Clients note the incredible professionalism and friendly attitude towards everyone. The dizzying career of the master is envied, but the “maestro of hairstyles” achieved all the regalia on his own.

Carier start

The history of stylist Ruslan Tatyanin began at the age of 19, when a young man came to make-up courses. At that time, the first programs appeared that told about fashion trends, on TV they played clips of Russian stars, shot not in the most professional way. After the young man learns about the famous masters of style, he understands that he dreamed of such a job. What could be more beautiful than changing not only makeup, but the whole image as a whole, including hair and clothes?

First teacher

Creative activity is so captivating young man that he enters the Moscow technical school, delving into hairdressing and the basics of decorative cosmetics. After 3 years, one of the best graduates comes to the salon to the popular stylist Alexander Todchuk, whose work he has always admired. Tatyanin admits in all interviews that this was his first creative experience, and Team work with a great professional in the beauty industry helped him discover his talents.

And he still calls Todchuk his first teacher. He was lucky enough to work in glossy fashion magazines, which first appeared in Russia, and at fashion weeks in Moscow.

New heights

After 5 years, the stylist, who has learned all the tricks of creating new images, is invited to the well-known company Schwarzkopf and offers a theater company created by Oleg Menshikov to Lev Novikov. And when the master thinks about staging a new play "Kitchen", he chooses Ruslan Tatyanin as the main artist of the future spectacle.

Later, the stylist explained his departure from Todchuk's salon by the fact that it was not easy to combine so many. For Schwarzkopf, he creates several collections. The first one impressed the public with the fact that the models came out in denim and leopard kokoshniks, and the second told about the history of red in Rus' and glorified the unique female beauty.

Interfering cabin frames

Ruslan Tatyanin, whose biography represents a difficult path from a student to a true professional in his field, finds work in a small Moscow salon and continues to work in it to this day, but appears in it several times a week for the sake of regular customers who have not cheated on the master for more than 15 years. The practicing stylist often lacks creativity, because he is not often called upon to create ceremonial hairstyles which he loves.

He admits that the limits of the salon do not allow him to turn around to the fullest, as he comes up with not only unusual hair styling, but also a whole image with outfit and accessories.

Collection of amazing images

In 2010, he fulfilled his dream by presenting a collection in which each of his hairstyles represented a certain theme and unique style. Ruslan brought to life a project in which he outlined the main milestones in life for a woman, starting from High school prom, weddings and ending with elegant old age. By the way, the stylist's muse was the legend of Soviet cinema Svetlana Svetlichnaya, and in his project she acted as a model.

Master classes

The main areas of Ruslan Tatyanin's work at the present time are teaching at master classes. An experienced stylist shares his vast experience with his students and viewers and considers such seminars a logical continuation of his career. He works in the Channel 1 team on the Fashion Sentence program, transforming gray and unsmiling women and giving them pieces of his positive.

Wedding complex styling

For Ruslan Tatyanin, who loves to work with long hair, styling for the bride is aerobatics. Not every hairdresser will be able to create a complex hairstyle that emphasizes femininity and the peculiarity of the moment, which must be preserved in its original form until the end of the solemn event. The maestro believes that the most spectacular and romantic creations are obtained only on long hair.

A stylist who goes ahead of many of his colleagues must be given credit for inventing an innovative approach to the collections of hairstyles of all the ladies present at the gala event. Ruslan offers styling for mothers of brides and their bridesmaids, made in a common style. I must say that such a practice in Russia did not exist before.

Hairstyle books for everyone

Another interesting project which the master is passionate about is writing books on creating beautiful hairstyles with their own hands, addressed to both ordinary readers and professionals. Ruslan Tatyanin, whose hairstyles are admired for their simplicity and complexity at the same time, makes it clear that in his books everyone will find ideas for the holiday. He has long believed that all festive hairstyles are the pinnacle of hairdressing, and modern technologies Hair coloring allows you to take care of your hair and restore its structure.

Stylish looks for everyone

Ruslan Tatyanin dedicated the luxuriously designed album “The Best Hairstyles for All Occasions” to his mother. He knows exactly what a woman needs, and offers exactly the images that will suit everyone. Unfortunately, not all the fair sex can get into the salon to the stylist, and it is for them that he shows step by step instructions explaining how to achieve even the most incredible styling.

Ruslan Tatyanin, whose best hairstyles can really be repeated at home, is happy that his work will help every reader look stylish and elegant. And he emphasizes that you should not be afraid of complicated, at first glance, styling, because only by experimenting can you achieve amazing results.

You can discuss the stages of his dizzying career for a long time, list the television and theater projects in which he participated and organized himself. You can believe or not believe the rumors. I want to say as an eyewitness: at festivals and exhibitions, his stand is always full of people.

Did you enter the stylist profession on your own - or did it find you?

I came myself, and already at a conscious age. Around the age of 19, I went to my first makeup courses, thinking that being a stylist and makeup artist is probably not as difficult as being a hairdresser who can cut off a strand of hair - and you can’t glue it back. Therefore, I planned to become a make-up artist, but when I graduated from school, I found out that there is such a profession - “stylist”, and took the first courses, and six months later I entered the Moscow Industrial and Pedagogical College (now it is called the Art and Pedagogical College of Technology and Design) to the department "Hairdressing and decorative cosmetics". When I finished my studies, I was already about 22 years old, and I knew for sure that this was my life's work.

What foreign hairdressing schools do you like?

I enjoy attending other people's seminars, where there is always an opportunity to discover something new. Every year I definitely go to London for SALON INTERNATIONAL. For me, this is the brightest European exhibition in the field of hairdressing.
I don't miss the master classes of Vidal Sassoon, Toni&Guy. I cannot say that I really like everything, but I am looking for new ideas, new trends, new concepts there. I look at how performances and shows are built. I like what Patrick Cameron is doing, some new Italian and American schools. But this is interest, nothing more.

You travel a lot around the country: could you assess the level of training of specialists in the provinces?

In my workshops, I teach evening hairstyles from long hair, and, in my opinion, this is the pinnacle of hairdressing! This is not mass love. Almost all hairdressers cut their hair, all hairdressers color, and not everyone does evening hairstyles. Those hairdressers who come to me for master classes in the provinces do not go to learn hairdressing at all. As a rule, they come already with a fairly good level of training and want some knowledge from me.
All of them are already familiar with my work, they have seen my show programs, master classes on DVD. Those people who come to my seminar want to see a style of work that is very close to them, they follow the trends. I meet very talented craftsmen, and it doesn't matter if it's Yekaterinburg or Samara, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Khabarovsk...

In your opinion, can a hairdressing school appear in Russia, which will become on a par with many famous world schools?

Certainly! We have amazing masters and amazing collections in our country, which will undoubtedly give odds to Western ones. It is no coincidence that many world championships in hairdressing are won by Russian masters. Hairdressing life in Russia is quite active, as evidenced by the number of exhibitions that take place today in our country. A vivid example is the Nevsky Berega Beauty Festival, which I have been attending for the fourth year already.

Do you have a website, do you have a Facebook page? How do you feel about Internet technologies?

Like many creative people, I am weak in technique. But thanks to the people who are nearby, I lead a life in the web space. By doing this, they support all my activities: they make websites for me, create Internet projects, upload videos from master classes, post information. Of course, I read all the letters that come to me, and constantly follow what they write about me on the Internet. But it is difficult to cope with such a huge flow of information on your own, so I have helpers.
Now I am making a new site, and soon, in addition to the site www.ruslantatyanin.ru, a new resource will be launched, which will be dedicated exclusively to the wedding. There will be sections "Fashion", "Makeup" and "Hairstyles".
On it I plan to place step by step master classes By wedding hairstyles. The concept of the site will be such that it will be of interest not only to masters, but also to ordinary girls who are going to get married.

Many people dream of falling into your hands, and with which famous woman would you like to work, perhaps changing her image beyond recognition?

I really wanted to work with some legendary woman that everyone knows and create such an image that everyone would look at and say: “Wow, is that really her?”
So I met the actress Svetlana Svetlichnaya. She is undoubtedly both a legend and a star, and we all remember her, but in the last 10 years Svetlana Svetlichnaya has disappeared, stopped acting and appearing in public. Life has changed, fashion has changed, it has changed, cinema has changed. And that fatal blonde that we fell in love with in the 60s and 70s, as if ceased to exist. This year she had an anniversary, the actress celebrated her 70th birthday. We took several photo shoots for this event. I completely changed the image of Svetlana Svetlichnaya, ho, she remained the same recognizable, chic, luxurious blonde, as always, not a Soviet spill, but a magnificent, expensive Hollywood woman. She has always been like that. My task was not to reshape a person, but to reveal something new in him, to add some colors so that she would shine, remaining herself. I can’t even remember analogues, so that with the help of a stylist, some famous actress would shine with new strength with new colors.
I recently had the pleasure of working with Tatyana Vasilyeva. She is an amazing woman. I did her makeup. I even managed to remake her hairstyle, especially since she has a short haircut. We used various hairpieces, wigs. She completely believed in me and even said: “Ruslan, do what you want, you are such a master, I won’t even tell you anything.”
My last project was working with an actress of the younger generation, Elena Ksenofontova. When I saw her in the theatre, I wanted to make her a sort of red-haired beast. Elena completely trusted me, and we did a photo session. I picked everything: makeup, hair, accessories, clothes. As it turned out later, the actress was very worried and subsequently wrote to me on a postcard: “Will I be able to match, because you came up with something for yourself, but I’m not like that ...”
After the transformation of Svetlana Svetlichnaya, many famous actresses called me and asked: "Make me like Svetlana Svetlichnaya." And I understand that there can be no second Svetlana Svetlichnaya. Now I can afford the luxury of working with those with whom I would like, and refuse if the person is not interesting to me as a human being or I do not like the style in which he sees himself.

And what style and female image are close to you?

You know, among the people of my profession it is now very fashionable to create the style of a femme fatale, a vamp, or to exploit a slight element of slovenliness, like a public whore. Everything is for show, a kind of woman-a clue, in which you can immediately see what and how much - this is not close to me. I think a woman should have a completely different image. No one is interested in a clue woman, because everything is read from the very first second. I'm interested in creating a mystery woman so that when you see her, you might think: I wonder how old she is? but the stylist did her hair - or is she naturally so red? Does she have her eye color or not? did she lose weight or not? is she or isn't she? It's a shame when young stars think that the fastest and easiest way to fame is to become a clue woman; I don't accept it. I like women with a capital letter, with a strong feminine beginning. Unfortunately, only the last drops, diamonds, pearls fall on my generation. These are the actresses of the generation of our mothers and grandmothers.

Which of your projects is your favorite: "Kokoshniki", "Hollywood" or "The Woman in Red"?

You know, it's hard to say. "Kokoshniki", for example, is my first project. I have always wanted to express some complete thought or concept. When folklore motifs were in fashion, the Kokoshniki show appeared. It was 2002-2003.
I'm Russian and I live in Russia! That was what inspired me at the time! Then I became interested in the world history of fashion, re-read a huge amount of literature. In 2006, when the World Hairdressing Championship was held in Moscow, I presented the Hollywood collection and showed the change in fashion and style throughout the 20th century. At that moment, it was very interesting to me. I can talk endlessly about my projects. It's impossible to pick your favourite!

In the theater, you worked as a make-up artist for Oleg Menshikov. As a rule, directors dictate their vision; Have you had any professional disputes?

Oleg Menshikov is a very subtle intellectual and such an interesting and bright person that I picked up any of his directorial visions with pleasure. I was glad to embody all his ideas and findings. He also had great confidence in my work. In terms of professionalism, I was very interested in the play "Players", there were only men, and for me, accustomed to female images, it seemed very exciting. We made amazing experiments with Oleg Menshikov: for example, in the first performances of The Gamblers, I made him such a curly and funny, unusual image.

What project are you working on now?

By the New Year, the book "Best 50 Hairstyles from Ruslan Tatyanin for all occasions" will be released. These are 50 master classes, 50 techniques and 50 detailed step by step descriptions. It will have three huge sections: Prom”, “Wedding hairstyles”, “Evening hairstyles”. Women of any style, any age, even the most capricious, will definitely find a hairstyle for themselves in this book. Here, with love and joy, I share the secrets of craftsmanship with all hairdressers.

What advice would you give to hairdressers working in salons?

No matter how trite it is - to love your job, your job! We have such a profession that we can stand behind a chair for 10 hours, and if you do it with love, then everything will work out for you!

Interview with Ruslan Tatyanin:

Tell us how your career started?

My career started somewhere around the age of 19. I wanted to be a make-up artist, or rather a make-up artist, there was no such profession as a make-up artist then. At that time, domestic show business began to emerge, clips, fashion programs appeared, and I learned that there is such a profession as a stylist.

Where did you study?

I found the very first make-up artist courses in Moscow. And then they told me: “Ruslan, because you can do makeup and be able to work with hair well!” I liked this idea and I entered the Third Moscow Industrial Pedagogical College in the department of "Hairdressing and decorative cosmetics" and received a diploma, which I am proud of.

How did your career start?

After graduating from the technical school, I went to work in a salon where I worked for five years - it was the first salon-studio of Alexander Todchuk. It was very interesting to work, I was his assistant in such magazines as Harpers Bazaar, Vogue and many others, which then only appeared in Russia. I worked at Fashion Weeks, on shootings, without leaving work in the salon - I really appreciate the practice with ordinary clients for their lively emotions.

How did your career develop further?

And then two interesting proposals were already received: to become a stylist for the Schwarzkopf company in Russia and to work with Oleg Menshikov’s Theater Association 814, which then already became famous in Moscow for its performance “Woe from Wit”! In the Partnership, at first I was an assistant to the leading stylist of this performance, Lev Novikov, who at the very beginning worked with Laima Vaikule, Larisa Dolina, Valery Leontiev and did all the first fashion shoots in our country. And when Oleg Menshikov wanted to stage the play "Kitchen", I was already invited as a full-fledged make-up artist, so that I would design not only hairstyles for this performance, but also make-up.

How did you manage to put everything together?

I had to refuse to work in Todchuk's salon, because I simply did not have time to work in such a schedule. And I found a small indoor salon in Moscow, which was ready to adjust its schedule for me.

Tell us about your work at Schwarzkopf ?

Started working at Schwarzkopf and made some interesting collections. My first collection for Schwarzkopf is "Kokoshniki". I did evening hairstyles and at the end of my show all the models were in kokoshniks, but not in Russian folk style- it was in the evening beautiful accessories, which, thanks to the musical seasons of Diaghilev and Russian aristocrats, were fashionable in Paris at the beginning of the 20th century. And I had denim, leopard and military kokoshniks. Then I did a big master class called "Creating hairstyles and images in the style of Hollywood of the 20th century." This collection was born in 2006, and I demonstrated this master class at the World Championship in hairdressing. At Schwarzkopf, I was given complete creative freedom, and it was then that my own style was born - the style of an elegant and mysterious woman, in which there is no vulgarity and vulgarity, so replicated by modern media. When I became an independent stylist, in 2008 I made a collection "Woman in Red", meaning by the word "red" - "beautiful". In this collection, I told the story of red and sang beauty, femininity and elegance.

Do you have your own school?

Basically I travel around the country. I have several programs, I conduct large and closed workshops on hairstyles and image creation. We actively cooperate with Kazakhstan, the Baltic states, Ukraine, Israel. And in Moscow, I recruit groups and teach.

You are called the "maestro of long hair", does this mean that you only work with long hair?

Since I continue to be a practicing master working in the salon, I cut and color, like all the masters who stand behind the chair. The only thing I miss in the salon is the creativity of creating hairstyles, which are mostly done on special days - weddings, graduations, celebrations. After all, when creating a hairstyle, I come up with a costume, accessories, and an image. My last collection in 2010 was called "Stylist in big city”, in which each hairstyle is a separate image and theme. In the collection, we decided to show all those festive and important moments for a woman in life - “Graduation Party”, “Wedding”, “Evening Out of a Woman”, and “Beauty in elegant age"- a kind of pinnacle of hairdressing. I was inspired on this topic by an actress, a legend of Soviet cinema, the first sex symbol of our country, Svetlana Svetlichnaya. I called her the muse of this entire collection, where she acted as my model, and I will finally embody those images that I have dreamed of for so long.

What stars have you worked with?

I made a photo shoot with a talented actress and amazing woman Tatyana Vasilyeva, very bright and interesting woman. In 2010, I met actress Elena Ksenofontova, known from the television projects "Red Chapel" and "Mothers and Daughters". But I saw her in a theatrical production and realized how interesting and deep an actress she is, in the traditions for which we love the old theater and cinema school. We have a rather interesting project.

What are your plans for the near future?

First of all, these are new collections, one of which is “Wedding Maestro”, which will include hairstyles for the celebration, not only hairstyles for the bride, but also for bridesmaids, mothers, as well as a hairstyle for the second day after the wedding. Usually, the hairstyle of the second day is what is left of the hairstyle of the first (laughs), but you can make the second day very festive! In December 2010, I also published the book “The Best Hairstyles for All Occasions from Ruslan Tatyanin”. This is a large glossy album of 250 pages, which includes 50 step-by-step hair tutorials. The book will be of interest not only to professionals, but also to ordinary people. It is the result of my 15 years of work, it is such a storehouse of practical information that has been collected over many years and had to splash out somewhere, because I cannot show everything at seminars, and the book can even be used as a textbook. Now we are talking with the publisher about the second book, also generously illustrated with good shooting.

What helps you navigate the current trends?

I am always learning and constantly improving my professional level, the profession is magical! You can’t say, they say, “I can do everything and I don’t need anything new,” this can only mean that interest has disappeared and it is worth reconsidering the attitude to the profession. The lack of striving for something new means that your talent and gift are either leaving you or may be leaving. Therefore, I always attend many seminars, both abroad in the UK, France, Italy, and in Moscow.

Which of the world-famous masters causes you respect?

From each master, whom we can always focus on, I learn something - from each of his own. And I will share a little secret of my success: when I first got into Todchuk's salon, I learned how to work very calmly from him. He never fusses, shouts, or raises his voice, whether it's working with a client or backstage at a show. When I first saw Patrick Cameroon, I liked the ease with which this master does his hair. I really liked it and in my work I try to show that everything is simple and accessible, even if the hairstyles are complicated. So that a person is inspired and wants to try. I was also influenced by the acquaintance and training with the fashion historian Alexander Vasiliev, he deepened my knowledge in the field of fashion, fashion history, and style. Now it is impossible to consider yourself a high-class specialist without this knowledge.

Do you use any special tools to create evening hairstyles?

Share the little secrets of your skill. I use a comb, which is called "Ruslan Tatyanin" - this is my branded brush, the only one with which I do absolutely all hairstyles. All the masters fell in love with her, many clients bought these for themselves. And I also use hair rollers very often, because the theme of the 60s is now popular, babettes in the style of Brigitte Bardot. Not a single show or master class is complete without them! What would you wish the masters? I wish the masters good luck, inexhaustible inspiration, new creative ideas! Until new interesting meetings!

Creativity of Ruslan Tatyanin

Created not so long ago, the Ruslan Tatyanin School is considered the pinnacle of hairdressing. The author's program, which was developed by a famous master, consists of two four-day courses designed specifically for those who have always wanted to learn how to work with long hair. In this program, Ruslan Tatyanin, together with Nikolai Ivanov, shares his rich experience, as well as new ideas that contribute to success.

In February of this year, ALFAPARF MILANO presented the best hairstyles of Ruslan Tatyanin for long hair. The new collection is very impressive. current trend became keratin straightening and transformation with the help of hair color. Ruslan Tatyanin's wedding and evening hairstyles looked original and luxurious. The maestro himself admits that most of all he loves working on the hairstyles of graduates and brides, creating a whole ritual for the client, thanks to which she can feel special and most beautiful.

In March last year, Luzhniki hosted a demonstration of Ruslan Tatyanin's "Wedding Maestro" collection. In this unique program, Ruslan for the first time proposed the division into separate images: the bride, bridesmaids and mother of the bride. 8 works were presented on the stage, made using nets, weaves, hairpieces, rollers and original wraps. Ruslan Tatyanin's hairstyles, on short and medium length hair, were not left without attention, photos of which flaunt on the pages of fashion glossy magazines.

Another collection that is especially popular with the maestro's clients is Stylist in the City. The author's collection was created specifically for important events in the life of women after 40. Going to weddings, anniversaries, awards and other festive events, many ladies are happy to change their image with a hairstyle and outfit for just one day. After such an experiment, many clients discover something new for themselves, trying on an elegant and slightly stellar feminine style created by the maestro.
